On April 9, 2025, business owners, entrepreneurs, and advocates will head to the Illinois State Capitol for Lobby Day 2025, hosted by the Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce (ILBCC). This pivotal event is a call to action for Black-owned businesses to unite, engage with lawmakers, and demand greater access to state contracts and economic opportunities.

Why Lobby Day Matters

For too long, Black entrepreneurs have faced barriers when it comes to securing government contracts and accessing capital. Lobby Day 2025 is about changing that narrative—giving business owners a platform to voice their concerns, push for legislative action, and ensure that state resources and opportunities are distributed equitably.

Key Objectives of the Event:

Advocating for Fair Access to Government Contracts – Ensuring that Black-owned businesses receive their fair share of public and private sector opportunities.

Building Relationships with Lawmakers – Strengthening connections with policymakers to influence policies that support economic equity.

Uniting Black Entrepreneurs – Bringing together a network of business leaders ready to support one another and collaborate for success.

Who Should Attend?

Whether you are a small business owner, contractor, supplier, or entrepreneur, this is your chance to show up, be heard, and take action. The ILBCC is calling on Black business leaders across Illinois to make their voices count in the fight for economic inclusion.
